I have drawn and doodled since a very early age...just ask my teachers! Precious class time was spent honing my skills with pencil and pen instead of doing my equations..( Higher math and I just don't get along!) Each one of us has a different skill set, though, and it was only after I had children of my own that I realized the importance of capturing "life moments" on canvas or paper. So while raising my babies, I focused on kids and animals and began to do custom pastel pet portraits filled with color and personality. My teens continue to amaze me on a daily basis... as does the creative process. I love music and concerts, good food and fine wine...and don't forget the chocolate! As a licensed massage therapist by day and ninja painting instructor by night, I am living the middle aged dream and wouldn't have it any other way! I joined the talented Painting With A Twist Carrollwood/Trinity team in May of 2014 and finally put my passion for art and love of teaching together in a job that seems to be tailor made for me! Love, Love, LOVE this gig and look forward to sharing creativity, paint and wine with many twisters in the future.

As a mom of two little girls and a pup life is busy. Art has always been my escape from reality, a time I can just zone out and create. I learned this was my passion at an early age and set out to become an art teacher, the dream was to be in art class all day! I received a Bachelors of Art in Studio Art and K-12 Art Education from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN in 2010; and was a full time Elementary Art Teacher in Pasco County for 7 years. When my first daughter was born I was promoted to a SAHM. Not fully willing to give up my teacher or artist hat, I continue to paint with my PWAT family and have been between our three studios since 2013. Paint your Pet is by far my favorite of our many amazing classes. If you too are looking to escape from reality for a few hours and or paint your fur baby, come hang sometime, our doors are always open, unless we are closed.

Hey y’all! My names Daraya or “RayRay”. I’ve been with the Pwat family since 2017 and counting. What a treat it is to encourage people to get creative and find their inner artist for a living! I’ve always been “the artsy girl” my entire life, but truly discovered my passion for the Arts in High School. My High School art teacher actually secretly signed me up for advanced art and that’s when my journey as an artist truly began. I love everything that allows me to create something from scratch, drawing, painting, digital art, design, web development, programming. It’s all about the vision and bringing that vision to life, oh how satisfying that is.

Art has been a major influence in my life. I have loved creating as long as I can remember. I believe art can speak when you have no words. It can be your release and escape, even if only for a few hours. Art therapy is real, vastly beneficial and sadly underrated. I am a self taught artist and continue to learn everyday. I am an artist and fashionista, a lover of wine, the color purple and love to travel. After a 26 ½ year career as a county government employee, I escaped the politics and bureaucracy to immerse myself in my passion of art and painting. Divinely guided to Painting with a Twist by a white heron, my friend Sharon and I are living proof that you can Live Your Dream and have a blast doing it!

“I dream to paint, then paint my dream!” My passion has always been Art. I have always had a crayon, paintbrush,pencil, or pen in my hand. The last words my father spoke to me were “Keep Painting” and I will always honor that! I am a proud mom of two sons, two beautiful daughter-in laws and the most beautiful grandson in the whole entire universe REALLY! With my “partner in crime” Michelle aka Sherlock, we have had the opportunity to see our extended PWAT Family grow and allow people to tell us “ I am an artist and I didn’t even know it!” This is MY dream, and I am following it EVERYDAY... Someday I WILL "Paint in Paris!"

“I was always known for doodling in the margins of whatever I could get my hands on. If there was a doodle where it shouldn’t have been, it was most likely me. Then one day I picked up a paint brush and never put it down! After I finished my first painting, I went around telling everyone “This is amazing! You should try it!” Since then, I have been inviting everyone I know to try painting! I started with Painting With A Twist in 2016 and every single day I fall more in love with it. Getting to share my love for paint every day has over all made me a happier and more bouncy person. I am a huge animal lover, whether furry or scales, I love them all. I’ve lived in Florida all my life and never tire of the gorgeous sunsets. I enjoy going out to explore nature and I absolutely love kayaking. And when it’s too hot, I enjoy watching fantasy movies with my fur babies. I try my hardest to push my limits and think outside the box. Come get creative with me!”
