Painting with a Twist FAQ
Q: What is your COVID-19 sanitation process?
A: We are offering limited seating in classes. This is for the safety of our employees and our customers. Masks and gloves are available upon request. Disinfecting of cups, brushes, easels, stools, tables, doors, restrooms, sinks, light switches, floors, counters, etc will occur before and after each class. Please ask the artists if you have any questions or concerns.
*No persons may enter the studio if they feel ill, have a fever, or have been in contact with those known to have COVID-19. Masks are recommended for your safety, and for the safety of those around you. However, they are optional for all guests and staff. If you need to cancel your reservation, we ask for as much notice as possible. Please note, no-show's without contact will not receive store credit or a refund. There are no refunds or store credit given to Twist at Home kits.
Q: What is your COVID-19 seating policy?
A: As of 1 June 2021, we have increased our seating to accomodate 20 (out of 36) seat in our main studio and 12 (out of 24) in our 2nd studio. Currently, masks are optional for all guests and staff. Q: What if I can't even draw stick figures?
A: You're in luck, because none of our 15,000+ copyrighted paintings contain stick figures... Ok, so there is one but our classes are designed for first-time painters! Our talented and enthusiastic artists will walk you through every step to help you create your own work of art. You'll be amazed at how talented you are and possibly, you might want to quit your job to pursue your new found passion! Be warned! It's addicting!
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: #1- Bring your favorite people! #2- Bring any food or non-alcoholic drink you'd like for your time in the class. Wine and beer are available for purchase.
Q: Should I bring cups/plates for my drink or snacks?
A: We provide cups, napkins, paper plates. We want you to relax and have a blast!
Q: Do I have to have any painting experience?
A: No experience is necessary. This is NOT a serious painting class! Our instructors are fun, and will guide you through the painting step-by-step, while we listen to great music, play games, give away prizes and have a great time!
Q: How much is it?
A: Our 1.5 hour sessions are $28/person for 7 and above only. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Our 2-3 hour sessions vary in price, and are $38-$75 depending on the surface you're painting on. We do have specialty classes like our Family Class, Coffee & Canvas and Double Paint Points classes with special prices. Check out our calendar for more info!
Q: Can I watch my friends paint?
A. Sorry, no. Everyone needs a paid seat to stay on premises during all classes, including our Family Classes. The only exception is kids classes- a parent or guardian is required to stay for the class, but not required to purchase a seat unless they are painting.
Q: When do you post a new monthly schedule?
A. The calendar for the upcoming month is posted on the 1st of every month.
Q: Will my painting be dry by the end of the night?
A. Yes, if there are a few damp places we have blow dryers which will dry them quickly.
Q: What are your age limits?
A: Age limits vary per class, and are clearly listed in the event information for each class on the calendar. No child under the age of 7 is permitted in the studio at any time, even if accompanying an adult.
Q: Do you do private parties?
A: Please see the Party Info Tab for more information on booking a private party. Painting with a Twist is a fun, unique opportunity for any of your group party needs. Whether it’s a girl’s night out, bachelorette party, birthday party, office party, kid's party, or office team building – we are your private party answer! Our party studio available 7 days a week.
Q: What happens if I don't finish my painting in class?
A. It's S.O.S. time! Didn't finish your painting, or simply want to touch it up? During an S.O.S. class, artists will be available to guide you through the rest of your painting. This event is free and held monthly, please make a reservation online so we know you are coming. Please refer to our current calendar for the next S.O.S. date. You're welcome to purchase beverages during S.O.S. classes as well!
Q: What is Painting with a Purpose?
A: In our ongoing commitment to give back to the community, Painting with a Twist proudly sponsors a monthly fundraising class - Painting with a Purpose. 50% of every seat sold from the event is donated to local non-profit organization (501(c)3). Contact us if you know of an organization that could use a little ‘Pay it Forward’.
Q: What if I have to cancel? What's your policy?
A: Cancellations must be done 48 hours in advance for a refund. Store credit will be given for individuals canceling with at least 24 hours notice. Any cancellations or no-shows withing 24 hours of class will not be issued store credit or refunds. There are no refunds or store credit given to Twist at Home kits.
Q: At what time should I arrive for class?
A: We encourage our guests to arrive as early as 30 before class. Consider it your happy half hour! Class starts promptly at the time listed and we want to honor that schedule for all of our guests!
If you have registered another guest, please let them know to arrive early!
Please note that if you arrive late, and cannot finish your painting on time, we have a free S.O.S. class once a month where you can work on your painting more with artist guidance.
Q: What do I wear?
Whatever is comfortable for you. Even though you’re wearing an apron, there is still the chance that you can get paint on your clothing. Please don’t wear anything fancy.
Q: Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are required. You may reserve online, via telephone or by coming in during studio hours. All payments for reservations are processed at the time the reservation is made. We do require a credit card for reservations made via telephone.
Q: Are gratuities appropriate?
A: We feel our artists do a fabulous job, if you feel so inclined to let them know with a gratuity (tip) it is always greatly appreciated but never expected. Show them a little extra love if you had a really great time!
Q: Can children under 18 years old paint?
A: Yes. We have age restrictions in the class descriptions, please check those details out prior to reserving. Our age restrictions are listed on each individual class.
