Art has always been my happy place. Each artistic journey that I've taken has always been an adventure. My goal continues to be to empower people and share the wonders of my encounters. As an entrepreneur I've discovered that my interest and enthusiasm for art has been a big part of my giving back and a vehicle for communication.

Julie

Julie

Hi. I'm Julie. I'm an overeducated computer geek, Ironman triathlete, mom / wife, who is also a self-taught artist. I learned to love art by being a client of PWAT in South Tampa many years ago. PWAT didn't teach me "how" to paint, but it did give me the courage I needed to start. I learned, quickly, how to blend colors and that acrylic on canvas is a very forgiving medium - if I screwed up, I just need to wait until it dries and then initiate a do-over. I’ve come a long way since then, and I even have my own studio and gallery space nearby. Come visit me to learn more about the adventure this road has taken me on.

Hi! My name is Myiah. My artist name is Myiah Pink. I was born and raised in St. Petersburg where I began to blossom as a creator. I am a painter, fashion designer, business owner and healer among many other things. I create paintings that express the meaning of life from different perspectives. I have had the honor of having my work displayed at many different places in the Tampa Bay Area including Studio@620, The Factory, and Manhattan Casino. I also use different mediums of art to heal and teach healing of the mind, body and soul. Art is more than just a passion to me, it is medicine! I’m super excited to be able to work at Painting with a Twist where I can help others embrace their creative nature! I did a few summer workshops at this location as a kid, so I love to see how life comes around full circle! I am the smiling owner of HappySoul by Pink LLC. I provide apparel, workshops, commissions, custom clothing (hand sewn & painted) and much more. Check out my website www.Myiahpink.com for more information. I love to encourage people to create regardless on if they have the title of “artist” or not because as humans, we are a work of art - all we need to do is express! I am grateful to have the opportunity to help bring that spark out at PWAT!Hi! My name is Myiah. My artist name is Myiah Pink. I live in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida where I am inspired every day. I thrive on spontaneity and trying anything new. I am outgoing and often the life of a party.I am an artist, photographer, graphic designer, and part-time poet. I have over thirty years of corporate graphic design experience. Having been laid-off from a job that I saw myself retiring from; I found myself at a crossroads. My biggest advocate is my late mother. She recognized my creativity at a young age when she discovered I had outlined/traced the tiles on the bathroom wall with a crayon. She supported and encouraged my talent throughout my youth and made sure I had a creative outlet. My dad was in the Air Force and by the time I was 16, I had been exposed to the world via plane, car, and boat. I attended 14 different educational institutes through my college years. I am highly visual person because I was fortunate enough to experience different cultures and geographies. I conceptualize easily. I possess a keen ability to visualize colors and how they compliment each other and how beautifully they play together. My style lends to impressionism, where I rely on brushstrokes and rough use of color to form a loose interpretation of the subject matter. My pencil drawings allow the subject matter to blend itself with the background, which entices the viewer to interpret, or mentally finish the drawing. More recently, I have been drawn to fluid art and proclaim myself a self-trained acrylic pouring artist. Each individual pour is different based on the climate, the chosen pigments, and the size of the canvas. The more I submerged myself into this unpredictable art, the more I became enamored with the process and the end result. Because of this revelation, I have experienced a wave of creativity which has become the foundation of my daily life and my existence. The philosophies of acrylic pouring has allowed me to free my mind; and still be able create something beautiful. The technique of pouring allows for no control. During the process you have to let go and allow the colors to merge in creating something unique and beautiful. No two pours are the same. This is the allure of liquid art. By trusting the process and understanding the fundamentals, you engage in new emotions every pour. Acrylic pouring is the technique of diluting acrylic paints and pouring them onto the canvas. The paintings are built up using many layers of paint, each creating its own flowing abstract surface left open to the interpretation. When the dense fluid rests atop a lesser dense one, the top fluid wants to move downward, causing the two fluids to blend. Different colors of paint have different densities because of the varying compounds used to make them. I see liquid art as a way to ‘let go.’ Because of the way the pigment interacts, the excitement of fluid art is always a “happy accident.”
