Iilena Handy

Hello my fellow earthlings! My name is Iilena and I was born and raised here in the bay. Some of my hobbies include writing poems, playing video games, karaoke (Not very good) and Painting here! I started Painting not long ago and became a regular here at this wonderful studio! I love coming here when I’m not working as a server. I love to explore my creative side and push myself to see how good I can become! You will never meet someone like me! I got that one of a kind personality. If you see me around don’t be afraid to say hello! Let’s get this painting party started!

Jolene

Ciao! My name is Jolene. Born and raised in San Francisco. I was a customer for two years before taking on the world of Painting with a Twist (PWAT), by taking co-ownership of the studio. Coming from a Human Resources corporate background, I strive to maintain a fun atmosphere for our PWAT community. My passions include family/friends, music, arts and crafts with my daughter, and international travel. Tapping into my creative side helps me work through problems I’m trying to solve. Expression through painting and designing is my therapy. And the wine is good too! I love to see customers leave their burdens at the door and turn their frowns upside down. I’m excited to welcome you to unwind and get creative at PWAT Pleasant Hill!

Hazel Panaligan

Hi! My name is Hazel and I was named after a hazelnut (from my Dad's favorite chocolate bar). I was born and raised in the Manila, where I received my BFA in Visual Communications from the University of the Philippines. I moved to New York City, lived there for a few years, before settling down in the wonderful Bay Area. Art has been a part of my life since childhood that I can't imagine my life without it. Acrylic, watercolors, colored pencils and photography are my constant companions when I need creative release. When I am not making art, I enjoy travelling, listening to old music, reading books and geeking out over movies, comics and anime. A little trivia: I am a healthcare professional by day! I am excited to meet all of you, so we can discover together how much fun making art can be. Yes, you can do it! Art can be your friend!

Maureen Birdsall

My name is Maureen, and we’re going to get messy together! For a few glorious hours a week, I get to lead the creative warriors here at PWAT through an awesome painting. When we’re together, I want to laugh as much as you do – so grab your paint brushes, and jump into one of my classes. When I’m not in the studio, you can usually find me scooting around on my Vespa, or sneaking off to Napa with my hubby (always trying to avoid my day job as a web designer). Wanderlust should be my middle name, as I always have a travel bucket list going. I love books, theater, social media, gadgets, my 2 boys & hubby, gaming, my unfriendly cat, travel and of course wine (all out of order).

Shelley Fiori

Hi, my name is Shelley and I started out as a customer here. I love it so much here, that when I was asked if I wanted a job I jumped at the chance! Come escape with me for a few hours, and relax and we’ll have some fun together. I am a mother and a grandma and enjoy every minute I get to spend with my 6 grandchildren. I love that I am able to pass on the love of painting to you as well as my grandkids. I look forward to our many artistic travels together here at Painting With a Twist!

Anna-Sofia

My name is Anna-Sofia Giannicola. I’m a student majoring in animation and graphic design. I hope to work for Marvel as well as write and illustrate children’s books later in my life. For now, in my free time I like to do artistic projects, kick box, hang with friends, and play with my dog Sherlock. History and travel fascinates me and I speak two languages.
