Our Pittsburgh, PA - South Side Painting with a Twist Artists

Ashley D.

Ashley D.

Hi, I’m Ashley! I was born in Pittsburgh and raised with a paintbrush in my hand. I’m a recent graduate of CCAC and am looking forward to the next step in my academic career. I have always enjoyed the arts and creating something out of nothing. Whether it be paint, clay, or even my tablet, I’m always busy making something new! I’m glad to be here at Twist South Side, and I can’t wait for you to come and enjoy the experience as well!

Courtney

Courtney

Hi, everyone, I'm Courtney! I was born and raised on the flatlands of Ohio. I moved to Pittsburgh for school and have lived here for almost 10 years. I've earned my bachelor's degree in media art and animation from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Now I'm a medical technician for the elderly. I use my art abilities and knowledge for therapy to help the memory impaired. I've always had a strong love for art. My father taught me how to draw and paint at a very young age. I believe anyone can learn how to paint, and I'm happy to help you!

Jenny

Jenny

Hi guys! My name is Jenny, and I'm from the block. Actually, I'm from the City of Brotherly Love, but don't hold that against me! I'm an experienced painter who's been studying art in various forms for over ten years. Although I have a degree in Film and Media Arts from Temple University and primarily work in video production, painting has always been one of my lifelong hobbies. I began to turn my passion into a profession with commissioned paintings and illustration, and a few years later I joined the Painting with a Twist family! Having the opportunity to pass the knowledge my art teachers gave me onto others is an incredibly fulfilling experience, and with my musical theater and performance background, I'm committed to keeping your learning experience fun! When I'm not producing or painting, you can find me riding my horse, attending Comic Cons, enjoying craft ales, rocking out at metal concerts, or working on my current comic, Gibson And The Apocalypse, which can be read on horsenation.com or my art instagram account, @jennykammart. I look forward to seeing you at Twist South Side soon!

Art is the act of pure inspiration; that's my motto, and just like in Ratatouille, "Everyone can cook," I believe that everyone can paint! The best part of my job is being able to help people realize talent they didn't know they had. I’m Pittsburgh born and raised, and I love my city (and the Steelers and Penguins of course). I have my BFA in Fine Arts from Edinboro University with a concentration in drawing and a minor in art history. I also do commissions, and I'm experienced in all types of media including oil paint, watercolor, ink, charcoal, and graphite. I've been an art instructor for many years before I came to Twist South Side, so I've taught people with different levels of experience. If you're a novice, don't be scared to paint! I guarantee you'll end up with something you can be proud of. If you take a class with me just be ready for my corny personality and nerdy jokes!

I have always had an eye for the arts, beginning at a young age. My aspirations and skills have led me to be an award-winning artist, photographer, and filmmaker. Currently, I am enrolled at Point Park University, working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Cinema Production and a minor in Photography. Alongside being an artist, I also enjoy creating music, target shooting, photography, filmmaking, and watching horror movies. My goal as an artist and filmmaker is to be able to inspire others to take the risks that tie in with their creative concepts and ideas.

Hey, I’m Meg! I was born in California, but I have lived here in the ‘Burgh for most of my life. I’m a graduate of Point Park University with a BFA in Animation & Visual Effects, and I had an internship with Animal Media Group, a local media studio downtown. I’ve always had a strong passion for storytelling and the arts. My love extends from animation, to digital art, to drawing, and, of course, to painting. When I’m not creating, writing, or working on my own side projects, you can find me enjoying various video games, movies, cartoons, and TV shows. So, come on down to Twist South Side to paint with me!

Mik

Mik

Hey! My name is Mik. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, and I recently graduated from MU with a degree in sculpture. I grew up drawing and painting and have always loved what art can do for people. I also studied pre-veterinary biology for a while, so I love to mix a little bit of science into my work! When I’m not creating art, I’m probably in the kitchen cooking up a storm. I believe both food and art bring people together to create the best memories. This is why working at Twist South Side is so wonderful. I love getting to see people making incredible memories together through art, food, and a little wine!

Hi, y'all! I'm a lifelong Pittsburgher and lover of all things art. I studied marketing at U. Pitt, but my passion has always been creativity: drawing cartoons, writing D&D adventures, or making music. When it comes to Twist South Side, I love that every guest ends up with unique work of art, even when painting the same subject material. That's the beauty of art!
