Linda began working for “Painting with a Twist” in October 2015. She was born and raised in Bastrop, LA and relocated to Monroe where she worked for the Monroe Police Department for 39 years before retiring in 2010. She has always had a love for art and all things creative and expresses that love and creativity in many different mediums. Most of her early years were spent sketching and painting in oils but now works mostly with acrylics. Her first formal training was in high school art class and then at Northeast Louisiana University where she minored in art. Linda has painted numerous murals on walls, glass for store fronts, the fence at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter, outdoor Christmas cards and other commissioned pieces. In addition to her art, she also paints, distresses, refinishes, and redesigns furniture as well as repurposes everyday items to create unique and unexpected must have pieces of furniture, home décor and art.
