Our Lubbock, TX Painting with a Twist Artists

Vanessa Humphries

Vanessa Humphries

Vanessa moved to Lubbock from the Dallas area, in January 2018. She joined the PWAT family in April of 2018 and is loving being an Instructor! Vanessa has a passion for watercolors, inking, art and animation. She has 2 years of graphic design and illustration experience, and has also done some public commissions. Vanessa describes herself as an aspiring Graphic Novelist. Her passion for art in general led her into looking for an art-related career. She likes to help people learn how to paint, and showing them that you don’t have to be a “Picasso” to make art. Her favorite advice are some quotes that we are all probably familiar with: “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff……Slow and Steady wins the Race….and it might not look like art right now, but it’s a process, and in the end, it turns out just fine”. Outside of working at Painting with a Twist, Vanessa enjoys reading, writing, and going to movies. She is a big Marvel Fan.

Bri Moss

Bri Moss

Bri is a born and raised Lubbock local who started working at PWAT in June 2018. She graduated from Texas Tech with a degree in Sports Science in August 2016, but now her favorite sport is the swishing up and downs of a paint brush and walking her huskies around the block. Before teaching at PWAT, Bri was painting pet portraits, but now she paints pretty much anything that moves. She enjoys a realistic style of painting, while adding her own twist to capture the soul of whatever animal or thing she wants to bring to life on canvas. Bri aspires to be an art teacher one day and is preparing herself for that opportunity while she grows and learns by teaching here at the studio. She will always be grateful to her parents for encouraging her artwork ever since she was a little girl. She wouldn’t be here without her mom, and she hopes her dad can see all her beautiful paintings from heaven. She has been through many trials in her life, but will always find her true passion lies with artwork, her animals, and with people willing to express themselves with creativity. One of Bri’s favorite quotes is by Snoop Dogg, “The best advice I’ve ever got is to be yourself. Stay true to who you are and what you stand for, and you’ll go far in life.” If you want an instructor who is down to earth and full of a passion for art, then Bri Moss is your girl!

Baily Duncan

Baily Duncan

'B' for short, Baily joined our PWAT family back in January 2020. She is originally from Snyder, TX but eventually found her home here in Lubbock. She has always been an artist at heart and learned to paint from her Aunt when she was very little. She grew up learning more art from high school, college studio classes and by painting at home. She graduated from South Plains College in 2020 with her Associates Degree in Fine Arts and plans to transfer to Texas Tech in the future. Baily sells her works on the side as well as doing custom commission pieces for others. Her favorite thing about teaching people how to paint is to see how proud they are after they worked so hard on their piece. She truly believes anyone can create something beautiful! When she is not painting or teaching, she loves spending time with her fur-babies, reading, and traveling. 'B' hopes to see you in class and is looking forward to getting artsy!

Annie Kei

Annie Kei

Annie moved to Lubbock from Canada a few years prior to joining our PWAT family in May 2021. She acquired a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, majoring in drawing and painting at OCAD University in downtown Toronto. She specializes in figurative painting, as well as drawing and painting animals and still lifes. She’s well acquainted with almost all traditional mediums such as oil, acrylic, charcoal and watercolour. Whether it’s creating art during her free time or teaching at the studio, she’s extremely passionate about her work. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Annie has traveled all over the world and lived in multiple countries before settling down in Texas (for now). Compared to giant metropolises like Toronto and Hong Kong, she prefers living in smaller cities where she’s able to keep tons of animals and houseplants as her side hobby.

Cassie Tradewell

Cassie Tradewell

Cassie joined our PWAT family in May 2021 and she has loved every minute of it. She is a US Navy Veteran, who was stationed in San Diego, CA. She decided a few years ago to move back to Lubbock where she is originally from. She has always been passionate about creating art and sharing that experience with others. When she is not painting with us, you can find her spending time with her family and her furbabies, gardening, and working on her side projects. Cassie has been creating art since she was little. She has taken many art classes throughout her life which include observational drawing, hand rendering, and painting. Although she enjoys many different art forms, oil painting is her go to and she specializes in human and animal portraits. She has 4 years of interior and graphic design experience. Currently, she is attending Texas Tech University as a Human Science major. Her hopes and dreams after she graduates are to attend graduate school and become an Art Therapist. She believes art is a powerful healing tool, and what better way to help people than through art!
