Bottle & Bottega Des Moines Offers Midterm Relaxation Event at Drake

Drake University students undoubtedly needed some time to unwind during the frenzy of midterm exams last month. After all, papers, tests, and last-minute cramming can make anyone a little frazzled. That’s why Bottle & Bottega Des Moines stepped up to the plate to provide a little midterm-week fun for Drake students. On March 13th, students were treated to painting classes and punch at the “DU it Yourself: Paint and Sip” event. Many students had never taken up the hobby of painting, and still managed to flex their artistic side in a fun, relaxing way.

Griff the Bulldog mascotThe Student Activities Board reached out to Bottle & Bottega Des Moines last month to participate, and we were happy to bring our awesome artistic fun to the college campus. Not to mention, Bottle & Bottega’s Co-Owner James Neely is a 2001 MBA graduate of Drake University. By collaborating with the Spirit Co-Chair Sophia Revord, we made a magical event happen for students and university staff alike. Students’ paintings were inspired by Drake University mascot “Griff the Bulldog,” in a custom image created by local artist Jill Woodward. The high turnout included 70 students who relaxed, unleashed their inner artiste, and created some fun masterpieces to take home.
